August Highlights

At the beginning of the month, Adeline and I took a very quick trip down to Naperville, IL to visit my college friend, Deb and her family.  Adeline and Deb's 3 girls had a lemonade stand together last summer, and this summer had one again!  We hope it is an annual event!  Patrick stayed back home side with Charlie and Clara.  It was the first time I had left Clara overnight.  But I knew she would be in the best care with her daddy.

At MSP airport heading to ORD...

Adeline with Amelia, Abigail & Madelyn

All set for customers....Lemonade for sale!

a little bit of playing in between customers...

What a great afternoon, what a successful lemonade stand!

After dinner and baths, watching "Frozen."

And back on the airplane heading home.  I must say, Addie is about the easiest little gal to travel with!  I also realized that this was the first time since we have had kids that I have traveled overnight without having diapers with me!  My bags were light!

Hot summer afternoon, running around in the sprinkler

Dinner al fresco

Adeline's summer gymnastics meet...photo says it all...Adeline takes first in "all-around" in her skill level...big smile on her face (and ours maybe too)!!

hello Charlie!

love watching home videos

21 months!???!  Is that right?  She is not a baby anymore!

Yes, we made it back to the Minnesota State Fair, after missing it last year.  We had a really great morning of going on rides, seeing some animals, and of course, eating some tasty food!

Adeline and Charlie had these concerned faces for the entire ride....poor kids!

The state fair is a tough place for a little one like Clara's age to walk around....she was a trooper being in the stroller so much!

Hanging out near the "all you can drink milk" stand!  It's the perfect spot for this little lady!

guess which animal building we went into???

Kindergarten Open House - organizing supplies
In the past 2 weeks, Adeline has seen her teacher, Mrs. Bodeker, 3 times.  The first time, parents had an info night with the principal, while Addie spent time in her classroom with her teacher and classmates.  Then, 2 days later, she had her individual academic assessment with her teacher, and now the open house where we spent time in her room and got organized a bit.  I remember so much work goes into starting a school year for the staff...I hope to be a parent that shows appreciation to my kids' teachers.  It's not an easy job...but definitely the most rewarding, I have no doubt (right next to being a mom).

Excited 100% - she is so ready for this in every way!  So proud of Adeline, so blessed to have had all this time with her, not having missed any part of her life, feeling so fortunate that I can be a stay-at-home-mommy, so bitter sweet this transition is for me...

Mrs. Bodeker & Addie - it's going to be a great year!  We think the world of this teacher already!
