My dear college friend, Deb, and I have managed to stay in touch pretty well even though we live in different states. After her girls were born in 2007 and Adeline was born in 2008, we saw each other a couple of times, but it had been a few years since we got to spend time together face to face. We enjoyed a wonderful day celebrating her girls' 6th birthday this past weekend. We drove down on a Friday night, went to the party on Saturday and drove back home late that evening. The thought of packing everyone up and driving down to the Chicago area was a bit overwhelming (all trips which involve packing up the whole family can be a bit overwhelming to me), but my sweet (and smart) husband said to me, "It's never going to be easier, so when we do have the opportunity to do something we should do it!" And I am so glad he talked me into it. Adeline loved being at the Strawberry Shortcake themed birthday party! The birthday girls (Abigail, Madelyn, and Amelia) had the most amazing party ever, thanks to their mom who put tons of time into planning the day! Deb also got to meet Charlie and Clara...and believe it or not Patrick and Dan (Deb's husband) FINALLY got to meet! We love this family dearly! We wish we lived closer to you! Adeline is looking forward to having a playdate (a lemonade stand) this summer with the Hervey girls...can't wait!
Story time (can you tell Deb is a natural at this...she is a former teacher and principal)
Charlie, feeling right at home playing with the girl toys
Getting her apron on for all of the party activities...
manicure
the girls made strawberry jam
Patrick and Charlie playing
girls dancing - so much fun and excitement
Did I mention Deb really went all out for this party....quite amazing!
Love the Herveys!
Madelyn & Adeline
Deb & I with our kiddos (without Charlie) - Life has changed a bit since college days!!
